XPM – Maximum bits: 8
X PixMap (XPM) is a 256 color format developed for X Windows by MIT.
All XPM image files can be read and displayed.
8 bit/pixel images can be written to XPM files.
Note: Symbolic XPM images contain X-Windows color names instead of numeric color information. Reading symbolic images requires the presence of an X-Windows standard "rgb.txt" file containing the symbolic color name mapping information. GFX-View V3 requires that the "rgb.txt" file be located in the same folder as the first symbolic XPM image that is loaded during a session. Once the mapping file is read it will be used for all symbolic XPM image viewing during that session.
